The Role:

This is a hands-on senior design role focused on leading projects, mentoring teams, and driving both the creative and technical execution of commercial interior projects from concept through construction.

This is: Senior Designer + Project Leadership + Technical Oversight

We are looking for someone who can confidently lead projects while balancing design vision, technical coordination, client communication, and team mentorship.

What we are looking for:

  • Supporting permitting, consultant coordination, and construction administration efforts

  • Maintaining project momentum in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment

This role requires someone who is both design-minded and technically strong — someone who can lead projects confidently while ensuring the details are executed correctly.

Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Client Management

Design & Technical Documentation

  • Oversee development and coordination of construction document sets

  • Guide project teams through space planning, detailing, finish selections, and technical coordination

  • Review drawings for consistency, constructability, and overall quality

  • Develop details, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and millwork packages as needed

  • Ensure projects align with firm standards and documentation quality expectations

  • Support drawing production and revisions throughout project phases

Quality Control & Coordination

  • Perform QA/QC reviews on drawing sets before issuance

  • Coordinate with MEP, structural, civil, and specialty consultants

  • Identify and resolve technical conflicts, code issues, and coordination inconsistencies

  • Support permit submissions and respond to city review comments as needed

  • Review consultant drawings for coordination and completeness

  • Ensure accuracy across all phases of project documentation

Team Support & Mentorship

  • Mentor junior and mid-level designers through project work and technical development

  • Serve as a technical and design resource for the internal team

  • Help maintain CAD/Revit standards and studio workflows

  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and solution-oriented team environment

  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related field

  • 7–10+ years of experience in commercial interior design or interior architecture

  • Strong experience leading projects and managing client relationships

  • Strong technical construction documentation experience required

  • Proficiency in Revit required

  • Experience coordinating consultants and managing project teams

  • Strong understanding of building codes, ADA requirements, and commercial interiors

  • Experience with permitting and city review processes preferred

  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team in a fast-paced environment

Compensation:

Compensation is competitive and based on experience, leadership capability, technical expertise, and level of project responsibility.

This role offers opportunities for continued growth, leadership, and increased project ownership within a collaborative and design-focused studio environment.
