Designer
The Role:
This is a hands-on design role focused on supporting commercial interior projects through all phases of design, documentation, and project coordination.
This is: Interior Designer + Technical Support + Project Coordination
We are looking for someone who is creative, organized, technically curious, and eager to grow within a collaborative studio environment. This role will support senior designers and project managers while gaining experience in both the creative and technical sides of project delivery.
What we are looking for:
Assisting with commercial interior projects from concept through construction administration
Supporting project teams with design development, documentation, and coordination
Producing drawings, presentations, finish selections, and material documentation
Assisting with construction document production and technical detailing
Coordinating with consultants and supporting permit submissions
Learning and developing technical documentation and code knowledge
Supporting project managers with organization, communication, and project execution
Contributing to a collaborative, fast-paced studio environment
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative and technical aspects of interior design and wants to continue building their experience in commercial interiors.
Responsibilities:
Design & Documentation Support
Assist with space planning, finish selections, furniture selections, and design presentations
Support production of construction document sets in Revit
Develop plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, and details as directed by senior staff
Assist with finish and material research, sourcing, and organization
Support revisions and drawing updates throughout project phases
Help maintain drawing standards, organization, and project documentation accuracy
Project Coordination
Coordinate with internal team members and outside consultants
Attend project meetings and assist with meeting notes and follow-up items
Support project managers with schedules, submittals, and project organization
Assist with permit submissions and responses to city comments as needed
Help coordinate RFIs, submittals, and construction administration tasks
Technical Development & Quality Control
Learn and apply building codes, ADA requirements, and commercial interior standards
Assist with drawing coordination and review for consistency and accuracy
Support QA/QC efforts by helping identify discrepancies and coordination issues
Develop technical detailing and documentation skills through project work and mentorship
Gain experience coordinating consultant drawings and project documentation
Team Collaboration
Work closely with senior designers and project managers in a collaborative environment
Participate in design discussions, brainstorming, and studio collaboration
Support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
Maintain a positive attitude, strong communication, and willingness to learn
Take initiative and continue developing professionally and technically
Qualifications:
Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
2–6 years of experience in commercial interior design or interior architecture preferred
Proficiency in Revit required
Familiarity with construction documentation and commercial interiors preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented mindset
Understanding of building codes and ADA requirements is a plus
