On July 1st, NUVŪ Interiors turned five years old.

Some days it feels like these last five years have flown by, and other days I look back at everything we’ve accomplished and can’t believe we fit it all into such a short amount of time.

When I started NUVŪ Interiors, I didn’t have a big, polished plan. I just knew I wanted to build a design firm that felt thoughtful, personal, and grounded in real relationships. I wanted clients to feel supported and heard, and I wanted the work to speak for itself.

Five years later, that’s still the goal.

This year has been a big one for us. We rebranded, launched a new website, moved into an ACTUAL DOWNTOWN OFFICE, and next week we’re adding our fourth designer to the team! It’s been a year of change, but also a year where things have started to feel more defined in a really good way.

Over the past five years, we’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects. Office design is still our core focus, but we’ve also expanded into hotels, bookstores, bakeries, coffee shops, amenity centers, pool decks, and other hospitality and retail environments. Each project has pushed us in a different way and helped shape how we approach design.

Some of the projects I’m especially proud of include a director’s office space, the JW Marriott Austin Lobby and Corner Bar, the downtown Aloft/Element Hotel, Letterpress Bookstore, and the 4th floor of the LBJ Library, along with a range of other workplace, hospitality, and public projects.

Of course, growth hasn’t always been easy. We’ve had changes on the team, wonderful people have come and gone, and we’ve had plenty of moments of stress and uncertainty along the way. That’s just part of building something we’re proud of from the ground up. It’s required a lot of adapting, learning, and trusting the process, even when things aren’t completely clear.

But what stands out most to me is the work itself, and the people behind it.

More than anything, I feel grateful for every project, every client, and every relationship. You have played the most important part in what NUVŪ has evolved into. None of this happens in isolation.

I’m grateful for the clients who trusted us early on and continue to trust us now. I’m grateful for the consultants, contractors, and partners who bring our work to life. And I’m grateful for the team that continues to show up and push NUVŪ Interiors forward.

Five years in, I’m proud of what we’ve built, but I’m even more excited about what’s ahead.

Here’s to the next chapter. Cheers!
